Muh-ree-what?

Meribo, pronounced "Muh-REE-bo", is a word we coined by combining two Italian words: Meridionale (southern) and Cibo (food). Southern like southern Italy and "the South". Food because...duh.


That's awesome, why'd you do it?

We love pizza. We love good food, good wine, and experiencing the joys of dining with friends and family. Our goal is for you to enjoy modern Italian cuisine with some of our southern influences in a comfortable  environment. It's that simple.


Who are you guys?

We (Vinnie LeDonne and Gavin Jobe) came up through fine-dining backgrounds. We met while working as servers at Sullivan’s Steakhouse in Baton Rouge and were promoted to management positions at the same time, learning the ins and outs of the restaurant business. Vinnie specialized in service training and bar management, while Gavin's passions were food and wine, becoming a level 1 sommelier. 

We first looked at the space on Lee Lane in 2012. We knew we wanted to create our own dining experience, bringing together everything we loved about the restaurant industry, but the timing wasn't quite right.

Four years later, the building became vacant and the timing couldn't have been better. Renovations began and here we are!
