Muh-ree-what?

Meribo, pronounced "Muh-REE-bo", is a word we coined by combining two Italian words: Meridionale (southern) and Cibo (food). Southern like southern Italy and "the South". Food because...duh.


That's awesome, why'd you do it?

We love pizza. We love good food, good wine, and experiencing the joys of dining with friends and family. Our goal is for you to enjoy modern Italian cuisine with some of our southern influences in a comfortable  environment. It's that simple.


Who are y’all?

Hallie is a Mandeville native returning home after 10 years away. She has worn many hats in the industry and was most recently the General Manager of Tsunami Sushi in Baton Rouge. “Owning a restaurant has been a dream of mine for so many years. I’m incredibly proud to be joining the Meribo family. I couldn’t be more excited to be back home serving food I love to the community that raised me.”

Gavin & Kasidy met working at Sullivan’s Steakhouse in Baton Rouge over a decade ago. Gavin has always had a passion for food and cooking since a young age then became a level 1 sommelier to learn more and grow as a chef. 

We first looked at the space on Lee Lane in 2012. We knew we wanted to create our own dining experience, bringing together everything we loved about the restaurant industry, but the timing wasn't quite right. June 2019, Meribo will make 3 years! We have never been more excited about the direction we are headed as a restaurant family. A new menu, cocktail list, a covered patio (coming this summer!), and several fantastic new additions to our team have us hungry for what the future holds.
